    Posted: 31 Aug 2017 at 9:04pm
Transmission on my Agco Allis 9755 is acting like it is stuck in a couple of gears or something. It's got the 18 speed funk power shift. A week or two ago, the filter light came on, and I at first thought it was the hydraulic filter light, but the hydraulics were working fine, and the light wasn't staying on steady, so I finished what I was doing, and then noticed the shifting was acting up a little; shifting harsh, and hesitating between gears. So then I shut down, and checked the book again, and it was the transmission filter light that was on. Not the hydraulic one. I got all three filters for it new; two hydraulic and one transmission. When I pulled the transmission one, it was collapsed. That was a gut wrenching thing to see. We then decided to change the oil in the entire transmission/rear end housing, even though it didn't have many hours on it. After the new oil and filters, it shifted better than it has in a long time. We've probably put 20 trouble free hours on it, until this afternoon. Earlier on today, I took Wyatt out to bale with it, and we noticed a bearing going out on the baler. Having half a bale in the baler, he finished making the bale full, kicked it out, and as he was pulling up to where I was, the tractor started to bog down, and almost died before he got the clutch depressed. We shrugged it off at the time, and fixed the baler bearing, plus two more that we discovered to be short lived. Got the baler back together and Wyatt fired up the tractor, and when he went to let the clutch out (in 8th gear) it promptly killed the engine. I jumped in with him, and we put it down in to 1st gear and it took off nicely, and as we started up-shifting through the gears, it seemed to start to labor around 6th gear, and we had to abort the mission around 7th gear before we killed the engine. No error codes came up or anything. Tuesday way baled all afternoon with it, and said he was very happy with how it shifted. Said it was working better n ever. No filter lights on or any thing now. Anyone have any idea where to go from here? Thanks, Darrel

Something is coming apart in the transmission. I would not drive it more than you have to. I had a clutch fail one fall and had to have the whole transmission rebuilt. It was not fun or cheap!

Not familiar with that transmission but I second above. It sounds like clutches are warped or engaged at the same time? I wouldn't run it.

Would guess a stuck piston in a pack done a few of them in 9600 series would check control valve operation first
