It depends what years your talking. The early one had duetz air cooled in them and the later ones had the Navistar engine.

Deutz.....Detroit series 40........Cummins. You must be SPECIFIC which exact model.

I,m just asking in general - thought the last letter like 5 meant something in these? Also if there were 3 different versions -  could anyone tell me the cubic inch in each ?

Just to clarify, the above Detroit 40 series is simply rebranded Navistar engine. The ones in the later tractors would have electronic fuel injection though. I think the whole "Detroit 40 series" as well as "Perkins 1300 series" deal ended, which is why it just says Navistar on the 9765, 9775, 9785 section?

You forgot the 9400 series, they used the 466.

The Agco Allis models 9670 and 9690 had Deutz motors and the 9675 and 9695 had the Navistar or Detroit motor
On the farm: Agco Allis 9695, 7060, 7010, R66, Farmall H, and Farmall F20 (Great Grandpa's)
