Just curious ive been told that acetone is pretty aggressive stuff, how does aluminum react to it? Does the ATF mix prevent corrosion of the aluminum?

I used acetone as an industrial solvent for years. It is really nasty stuff to be exposed to. Builds up in your system and the human body just can't process it out well. You need to use the correct protective equipment. Can't stress that enough. As to aluminum it will be fine with acetone. From a materials perspective think of it like the alcohol based cleaner they react about the same with materials. The alcohol based cleaners are safer ro use then acetone but good clean acetone will clean better. I say good clean acetone because in about a week it will adsorbe enough water from the air to make the acetone leave a white haze from the water makes it useless as a cleaner. I would only use it if I had to. Make sure you read the msds sheet and protect yourself.
