Did each of the 301/426  power units have more than one mounting concept? There was the AC tractor version.  I know both were used by other vendors. Did they adapt to a "power unit standard", "tractor version" or "special design" for them? Gen set power unit fit a combine cradle?  Or what was the Uni concept?  Ect...   Thanks...Dale

According to Swinford, the last engines produced that were designated as power units were G 226's.  When you get into diesels, the problems began, it was around the time of AC's demise, Duetz disn't buy the engine line.  I'm sure they sold engines, just not marketed to the PU designation of old...Wink

The front plate/front cover style of mounting varied between tractors, combines, industrial/construction equipment and gen sets. Even a straight truck may have been different with rubber mounts. The rear depended on if it was a torque converter, dry foot clutch, hand operated clutch, just a drive shaft, etc. I don't know, but there's probably a half-dozen different ways and I haven't seen them all. The rear is often referred to as an SAE #1/#2/#3, etc bell housing.

Speaking of power units, I wouldnt mind a G262 (D19 Gas Power) Power Unit for an upcoming project I have planned
