In my search for a Model K AC disc to pull with the crawler tractors, I purchased a small 7' Newkirk offset disc. These were made in the 40's and 50's and I assume used in the orchards in California as they were made in Anaheim. Does anyone have any information regarding where Newkirk went, who bought them, etc. The Newkirk disc has 22" blades and is fairly well built. In looking through the web, I di not find any connection between them and Oxnard.

Goble, Killifer ,Dyer,Towner, and Strathmore are all the old disc makers I can think of that where around when I was a kid. The first 3 became a part of Massey Ferguson, John Deere and IH. Towner  has gone out of business or taken over  in the last 10 years, and Strathmore is still around.

But never heard of Newkirk,so picture would be nice.

The Newkirk disc. Sorry about the size. its either nothing or too much. Many patents and sketches listed on the web for this manufacturer.

It may be called a Newkirk, but it is orange.
