I can't see why Dean doesn't do a reprint of his Allis Data Book, they are asking crazy prices for those.

Amazon had Dean's Data Book for $425.00 used and $500.00 new a few weeks ago and now Fay and Kraushaar book for $1000.00. I wonder what's going on with collectors? I've got both books and wouldn't sell either one. I just wished my tractors were worth that much.

I think I will buy one the next time I go to TSC. They had it for a lot less than that.

That $999.99 price is for a used book.  maybe it makes a difference who used it as to what it's value is?

Crazy isn't it?  You could get a parts tractor for that amount.

You have to understand the amazon market to see how that happens.  My mother is an online bookseller through amazon.
They use software to raise and lower the price of the books according to what others are asking.  So if you have one for $10 and someone else is asking $, it might rasie their price to $12, and so the race is on.  The prices do it both ways, and that's why you see penny books out there too. Also, if you see some rediculous price, they may not even have the book, but will find one for that price.  Mom often sells to other booksellers and drop-ships for them. JimD | |
