Looking for opinions regarding my 1950 B. A couple of years ago I found a differential cover for the A and C models that deletes the mechanical PTO from the rear of the tractor. This is the flat cover with the cone.

My B is one of my toys and I don't have a need for the PTO or hydraulics. The PTO currently works great. I think the flat cover is kind of a neat feature you don't see too often. If I removed the PTO I'd keep it and it would go with the tractor if I ever sell it.

So the question is, do I keep the utility of the PTO or remove it and clean up the appearance of the rear end?

Thanks!

I have the cover on my B and at some time I will put the pto (that is in my garage) on it. But really it's you tractor and it sounds like you would like it on it. So go for it!
Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!

I have a delete cover in the shed I put a PTO on my 1943 bare back C. I've never used the PTO but have used the hydraulics.

I know a lot of pullers take off the PTO and hydraulics to save power.
You know the B and C came through from factory with the plate on the rear.  The Dealer had to install the PTO Hydraulics.
I remember there was a trick to putting the PTO on.  You needed muscles that I do not have now.
Would I take it off.  No.  Why?  Cause you can never tell when you may get an implement that would use it.  Especially the hydraulic system.  Don't want to pick up a plow or anything else for that matter manually.
Take good care of my favorite.
Good Luck!
Bill Long
ps:  Come to think of it those covers may be a little rare.  I know every B-C came through with them but dealers - ourselves included - tossed them.

The thought of Bill Long tossing $50 (Todays Price) PTO B/C/CA Delete Plates boggles the mind.   By using one on my retired from farming CA I eliminated one big oil dripping mess.  On a CA one has to be creative to use the seat spring and shock.
