Hi all.

I have a ACC 30 PS, 1961, maybe? I agree with other posters that finding parts is a challenge, but also finding specs. I guess bolt torque data is definitely out of the question, LOL!!!

At any rate, I am working on this baby, and I am data-less/part-less in NC. The simplest things are like impossible to find. So... Q's to the experts:

1) What is the engine's oil capacity?
2) What is a suitable replacement engine oil filter?
3) Where can I find a distributor cap and rotor?
4) Where can I find spark plug cables? Although, I could make my own if all else fails.
5) Where can I find an ignition coil? Or the data to buy a suitable replacement?
6) Where can I find a set of points?
7) What's the gap in the points?
8) What's the dwell angle number? Yep... still got my Sear set of dwell angle reader and strobe light gun... Hey, I am old, and been doing this for a long time...
9) Probably be a good idea to re-do the wiring harness. Ideas as to where a wiring diagram could be found?
10) And just in case, any suggestions where I could source an alternator. Although, I guess if all fails I could replace the brushes myself.
11) Any air filter equivalents in the market? I guess if all fails I can always make one with panty hoses/nylons and K&N filter oil, as I did in dirt bike ridin' days. Current, and crusted AC filter, Wix 42112.

Indeed, it is a labor of love... So, why does love have to be so #&$& heavy?!?! The other day I was changing the king pin. Stepped away for a sec... the AC slipped off the jack stands. Good thing I was no longer under it. Otherwise, I am sure it would have been quick and painless...

At any rate. I look froward to your response. Also, thank you in advance for the time taken to review my inquiries.

Welcome to the forum, Wish I could help with the specifics.  I'd start by searching Buda Flathead 4 motors, that's what it looks like.  Good luckWink

Dave, Thank you.

I found the OEM cap and rotor at hgmforkliftparts.com. Not bad, either, $12.95 for the cap, and $2.95 for the rotor.

Actually, Advance Autoparts carries it, but it is $52 just for the cap, and $11 for the rotor. The guy at advance was searching the web to make a correlation with his stock number and found HGM, LOL!!

Foud bulk spark plug wire sold by-the-foot at aircraftspruce.com, $1.03/ft.

Still have to find boots and connectors without having to buy 100 at the time.

Oil - I found on this forum a reference to oil weight, from 5W-20, all the way up to straight 30W, with a lively discussion about Zinc contents, or lack thereof. I have a gallon, and a few single-quarts of 5W-20, which I use for my Fords. So, I will just add 2 qt first, measure, add another qt, measure, and so on. By the looks of the oil pan size-wise, this baby may take in 5-6 qt, even with just a 4 cyl engine.

Oil filter. Found a reference, but lst it. It will pop up again. - Looks like the HGM site offers them, too. Not sure if they are a good fit, but the site does a correlation between cap, rotor, condensor and points. The later are $2.03 and $6.08. Not bad at all. Will order and see the fit.

Now, all I need is dwell angle data, since I am not sure that I can see the timing mark on the way back side of the engine.

Thank you, Dusty. I did look up Summit for the wire. Theirs is 8mm diam. I couldnt find info on wire specs. I caliper-measured the OEM wire, and it is 7mm. So, theirs may have a little difficulty fitting the cap and coil receptacles. Airplane parts site has 7mm, and cheapest, sold-by-the-foot price at $1.03/foot.

Might try Herc-U-Lift in Mpls MN for parts also as they were a AC fork and industrial dealer - Also can try MinnPar in Mpls as they were the supplier for AC Industrial Parts
Their website might have info you need also
