I'm sure this has been discussed, however I have recently bought a 7060 that needs an overhaul, I have no experience with rebuilding engines. I want to do it right but am open to different options. I have heard of putting an inline A pump on them and a newer turbo? I have read that Relience kist are real good? I am open to any suggestions or ideas. This tractor will be my main tractor for a few years and will be used for a variety of things. Thank you everyone!

Well, lets start with WHY it needs to be overhauled?? Does it currently run ?? Are we looking at an "in-frame" overhaul?? or are the problems much deeper requiring the crankshaft to be removed ?? How many hrs are on the machine ??

I bought the tractor with not a lot of information. The guy I bought it from had just bought it and a 7080 in a package deal. He didnt want the 7060 so I got a pretty good deal on it. I believe it will run according to the original owner however it has set in a barn for several years. The tach has been replaced so I'm not sure how many hours. I believe it has a hole burned in the cylinder liner but am not sure. Sorry for the lack of info.

You should seriously consider making it run first, and as long as it isn't knocking (crankshaft issues) do a proper diagnosis. Dumping in 2 gallons of diesel fuel in the existing engine oil will help give it a bath inside for a much nicer engine to work on. As far as switching the injection pump type?? Make it run right first and go from there. That isn't necessarily a job for the inexperienced and will cost you more than the engine overhaul kit. There are thousands and thousands of tractors using a Roosa-Master/Stanadyne injection system with no problems at all.

I am hauling the tractor to a friend of mines shop. He is a mechanic with experience working on Allis tractors and said we could look the whole tractor over. I will definitely see if we can get it running first.

I would not go to trouble to replace Roosa with an "A". If it was an M100 on an 8000,maybe. You will never know the difference in normal use. M100's are okay when new and set properly but they have shorter life expectancy and are more finicky.

The pump on your 7060 is not like the older pumps, as it don't have the flex ring that comes apart in older pumps. MACK
