I have a AC7 Rake that is a side delivery rake. It is missing the pto shaft, and I am trying to outfit a new one for it. I bought a Weasler Eng complete shaft but the end supposed to hook up to the rake is a 1 3/8" round and I need a 1 1/4" woodruff key end to hook to the rake. I cannot find a way to change the yoke out due to the fact that the only yoke I could find that is a correct size woodruff key yoke is too wide to fit the bearing part (not sure that this is what its called). I really like the rake and really want to be able to use it especially since it matches my 1936 AC WC unstyled. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I had a lot of people tell me that I was crazy when I tried to get my 1950s Oliver mower operable and that it couldnt be done. but I did it, so I know that its just a matter of knowing exactly what I need and where to look for it. If anyone knows of a used shaft or a way I could adapt one I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!! THanks!!!

First off. Are you sure that it is a #7 rake? They are commonly mistaken for a pto side delivery rake. Does it have a shifter with a high low and revearse option or does it have two shafts sticking out the front of the gearbox?

I saw someone on here say it was a #7. it is an ac side deliver rake with a 3 speed trans. high low and tedding. it has two wheels. i got a new pto shaft and am trying to outfit it with a keyway from weasler. cost me as much as the rake itself(250). hopefully i can get operational. Even if the new shaft works i am still looking for an original shaft for historical purposes and tractor shows etc. Thanks for the reply. i would also like to try to find another just like it if anyone has one for sale in illinois or a surrounding state.

if it has a 3 speed gear box on it then it is NOT a #7 hay rake. It is just a standard rake. Very common, there are lots of those units around for parts just ask in the classifieds section and I bet you will find one. Also pictures will help alot too.

I think this is what you need, but the rake end connection is for a 1 inch keyed shaft on the gear box. Also if you purchased a one piece shaft, you may find that a problem also.
This came from an operational rake that sacrificed its future so that another may live.
