The lift arms on my AC 5050 don't (lift )!  The nearest (skilled) Allis Chalmers repair is 1 1/2 hours away.  Before making that trip, I would like to make sure there is nothing I can do that could fix the problem.  My issue is, I don't know where to start.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I can manually lift and drop the arms, and they will hold in the up position for some time, but any downward pressure, and they lower.
