    Posted: 25 Dec 2010 at 11:33am
Hi. Just registered. I have a real nice 260 scraper that has been good to us.  I am looking for parts or good replacement transmission for it. It has a 5 speed manual with an air-upshift button. I have found a million 4 speeds and power shifts but need the % speed. Can Anyone help? The S/N is s260-4378.
Thank you

You might find that it is a truck transmission that AC used . Check numbers against Clark or Fuller or such as a lot of the parts came from outside sources. Friend has a 260 scrapper and know on clutch as well as his trany he found things through truck outfit.
Some of the old parts guys in old dealer network had interchange catalogs. know Sweeney Bros  did for wheile when they carried AC.

Thanks for the input. There is a tag with serial #'s which I have given to several large salvage yards to no avail. I know it seems crazy. It was a common machine, I just have an odd tranny I guess. Lots of 4speeds out there and power shifts but not this 5 speed. I truly appreciate people helping me. Whoever gets me a tranny also gets a pizza from me in there home town.

Thanks again

Matt, send me all the numbers and info you have and I will do some  searching. I work in an industrial parts store and we look for odd/hard to find parts every day. I have a lot of sources. Maybe I can help. I happen to like pizza.JP

Another good source of information bmight be Thill Track and Tractor , Eau Clare WI, they have a web site and they have been a source of parts for me on other machines.

Hi there. The machine serial #s are s260-4378.  The trans #s are 182122 & 2411044. Which is a model and which is serial I don't know. The tag was kind of boogered up.

My parts book showed the parts we need are:

 Front bearing cover # 182166
Seal #182165
Oil pressure rings # 182052 2each
Bearing #182155
There were also some thrust washers that the book did not show, so I have no # for them. I believe we still have them somewhere so we will reuse them.

I would truly be interested in a good used tranny complete rather than monkeying with this one because it has now become so piece meal.

Thanks again for the help
