After seeing Calvin's extensive Allis Chalmers library back in the summer, it appears my brother and I were both inspired when it came to getting Christmas gifts for each other...

I received Dean's new "Better by Design" book, and I gave my brother a good used copy of "An Industrial Heritage" - very hard to find as it has been out of print for many years.
The best part came upon opening the front cover of the Industrial Heritage book, was a letter dated 1979 on Allis Chalmers letterhead from then vice-president Charlie Parker ...

I would love to find out more about the thermometer that is mentioned, but that original letter is just awesome!  Not to be overlooked, Dean's book is also very good.  I will definitely buy the third book when it comes available.

Hope everyone's Christmas is as good as ours!

Nice ! I looks like Santa arrived just in time at your house.  I must get the Series II book.
When you start reading 'An Industrial Heritage' you will find it hard to set down.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Great gifts. I'd love to have those as well.
