Im not sure what number it was, but friend of ours had one that started throwing fits (wasnt new enough to be computerized) so he took it to the dealer. They spent most of a week working on it in the shop (and charging him for all their efforts) checking everything and it turned out the wire to the electric fuel shut-off had a bad spot in it. It made contact sometimes, sometimes it didnt. Might trace your wires and/or put a jumper on to test. Good luck!

Not an expert on that pump but I would take a jumper wire direct to seleniod an see if you here a click, if not seleniod is bad or not grouded.

I have an 885LX We had the same problem its the wire that hooks to the injector pump it probably fell off, the 3cyl engine shakes and after time the connector loses its grip we replaced the end so it fit tight, and used a cable tie to hold the wire steady so it didnt happen again. You have to really look closely at your pump and find the wire take the side panel off and feel around the pump you will feel the spade sticking out.

Check the voltage of the wire at the solenoid. You may find it has a higher than normal resistance and not enough voltage to make the solenoid work. Sometimes a relay will fix this with a live wire right from the battery or starter or where ever you can find 12 volts. Had problems with a few tractors that don't work with 8 volts for some reason....

May sound to simplistic, but don't change any parts til you have made sure battery has very good connections. Can't tell you how many times those cables have been the cause of grief on equipment that sets for any time.
