8070 PD transmission temp sensor false alarm. Light is on all the time including when tranny is cold at startup. Got new one from AGCO. Old sensor has one green wire running to it. New one has two tabs for wires. One marked G and the other with an R. Is there supposed to be two wires attached to this? Can only find one green wire. The other wire in the harness goes to the hydraulic restriction sensor. Another question: Is the cap on the hydraulic fill tube supposed to be venting. I can't find a vent anywhere for either the hydraulic reservoir or the transmission. My main use of tractor is seeding where it powers hydraulic powered fan. The hydraulic restriction comes on them goes out after a while.

Yes, the cap (one on top of rear housing, with ring on it) is a vent cap

Get a tiny link chain at hardware store and zip tie that fill cap to a remote cable so you don't drive off and lose it like I did. Salvage yards didn't seem to have one. REALLY? Was over $100 couple years ago from AGCO.
One of those wires is likely a ground. I think when the sensor grounds out it turns light on? In past people have had light issues for other functions and it wire had rubbed through and was grounding causing light to come on. I have a HYD filter light intermittent and can find no reason. New filters etc. Wondered about changing sender but .... Edited by SteveM C/IL - 04 Jun 2022 at 9:26am |
