I'm installing a new compressor (dryer & exp valve too) and was wondering if it was normal for the compressor not to engage with the key, fan, and ac turned on?
Just want to make sure everything works before putting in the 12a. ![]() |

I was thinking the pressure sensor needs some charge (pressure) to ground the mag.
Is that true? |

if that system has a low pressure switch it wont engage the pump until there is enough pressure

Did you pull a vacuum on it. The freon is under enough pressure in the tank to activate the low switch without having to jump the compressor. Just open the low valve and let it run for a minute or two.

Right, I needed to jump the low pressure switch at the dryer. Thanks
Everything checks! It's been a while since I did one. |
