If you can't get them from Agco, I'd be surprised. But supposing you can't, I'd try Force America. I am not 100 percent sure, but I think that is a national chain. There is one 60 miles up the road from me at Bismarck ND. I've been in there for other stuff, and seen that they advertise that if you bring your old cable in for a pattern, they can re-make it. Randy, had Crossroad truck equipment in Effingham made some for us. Was cheaper than Agco and quality was top notch. Got to be somebody in Champaign that does that kind of work.

You should be happy that AGCO is still able to supply parts for tractors that were last made over 33 years ago.  Very few other manufacturers do that.  A neighbor of mine farms with old Case tractors (before International) and laments that they do not carry ANY parts for them.  He asked if I had any problems for my ACs and I said not really.  Yes, some parts can be rather expensive, but I know they will fit and perform without problems.  It's a lot easier than trying to jury rig something that might or might not work.  If you are actively farming with these tractors, sometimes you have to pay the price.  Don't like it?  Buy a brand new $200,000+ tractor full of computers and sensors.  When those crap out, the price of that cable would be pretty damned cheap by comparison.

I have bought 4 different cables from this vendor on eBay.  They have all worked great and look to be a high quality unit, matter of fact they look identical to 2 new in the box AGCO ones I have for my 7580.  They don't list that part number but can always send an email and see what they can make.

Thanks for the info. Will check with them. I did buy a throttle cable and a remote valve cable from agco Tuesday. $363 for both. Yes I am happy that agco still has parts and will buy from them when possible. But will need 1 more and will check around

hold off on buying from an Agco Dealer till you find out when their parts fair is. 10 percent off usually. Our dealer's fair is coming up this month.
Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.

If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help.

More than likely one of these aftermarket cable suppliers makes them for Agco, then Agco adds another 50% to the price

Just remember when you buy the parts from your AGCO dealer the profit for the part goes to the local dealer, who pays local taxes and provides a few jobs for people in the area.  If you are a good customer and you break down on a Sunday afternoon chances are you can get ahold of someone at the dealership that will help you out and keep you going.  Or they sometimes find a way to drop closer to you to save you the driving the full distance. Permitting you have a dealer in your area.  Ebay doesn't do that.  At least that is what I do.

gonna try really hard not to rant too much on this.... as a former allis dealer and current AGCO dealer who stocks almost all wear parts on the 100 series, 7000 series and 8000 series this is a battle we fight every. single. day. everyone complains about the discontinuation of orange tractors and "forgetting the heritage" but what they do not realize is that for the allis guys, AGCO doing a pretty decent job of still supplying us with parts. and parts for 40+ year old tractors and combines mind you..... we have gotten a lot of white business now with the last local white dealer gone. AGCO is NOT backing up the white tractors nearly as good as they are Allis. We do a good job of stocking but we always hear about how expensive everything is. My reply is always "well, go out and buy a new 130 hp tractor". one of these days AGCO will pull the plug on supplying the parts for these old girls. And then everyone will realize how lucky they were. I am not defending AGCO in the slightest. I am on the same page as everyone else. But when I am a local taxpayer supplying my local farmers with parts, give them the knowledge and parts availability then tell me "well I can get it online for XXX" and have them still complain about a price its a real kick in the groin. okay...… rant over.

and randy im not targeting you its just something I see everyday. I DREAM that we could go back to replacing a cable when a remote doesn't work. when one of the valves screw up on the newer AGCO/Massey/Challengers those electrovalves are $1,400.00 a piece. crazy.

allisguy you said what I wanted to say but were able to say it better.  I also am not targeting you randy.  Just pointing out how it is on the other side of the counter.  Don't think we just things ride when a part is overpriced.  We call AGCO and complain, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  A few years ago they changed the price of D17 starter solenoids to nearly $100.  I called and gave them a facts of life lesson, they told me there was a "clerical mistake" and it was fixed.  I have no idea if they were lying or telling me the truth, either way it was fixed.

I just had a customer in yesterday that needed a lightbulb for his r42. AGCO wanted TWNTY EIGHT DOLLARS. I gave it to him and told him to take it to NAPA and match it up and bring it back. 6 dollars from NAPA. he appreciated that. and i am more than happy to do that on those types of items. AGCO will be getting a phone call monday morning.
