We had a rock come through the rear window of our 8010 two years ago, so I cut a piece of plexiglass to size, and we bolted the metal "hinge" piece to it.  It has served its purpose, but the plastic is getting that haze which makes it hard to see when the sun is coming right through it.  Here is what I want to do.
Make a new Hinge that is not removable like the factory one.  Put a solid frame around a piece of glass, and mount an air shock on both sides where the old wing nut arms used to be.  This way, the window can rotate up, and stay there at a more horizontal open position, allowing more air through the cab.

Has anyone ever done something like this?

Thanks
John

Shameless,
That would be to easy.  This is for ventilation as well as visibility.  We like to bale hay with the window out, so we can see and hear the machine operating.
