Yes the front short pan is weld on frame and the 2 belt fan drive # should be 4349777

the hd7 nose should have 2 bolts each side  and lift the loader  and make security block and remove the small bolt each side nose and lose the big one with a 3/4 ratchet and pull the top nose in front and you should have some room for remove your bolts.

  I'll update you guys as I feel it is polite to give some of these stories an ending. Once I got my main pressure line to front pump changed and replaced a few other pop up leaks, I cleaned out the injector pump circuits and drained about 20 gallons of black fuel out of the tank. Changed filters, removed all drain plugs in the trans, oil pan, final drives, etc. to check for water (there was plenty) and topped off the fluids to test. Installed two hot batteries and hit the starter button about a hundred times and finally got that old starter to hit. Cranked the engine for about 10 second and then suddenly that old 7000 just sprang to life and sat there and shook for a few seconds,  and then purred like a kitten. Oil pressure good. Pulled shovel handles and up went the boom! I felt like a superhero with a new toy.                                          At any rate, after a couple of weekends of fiddling and adjusting, I was able to drive it and everything works good. I'm now able to knock down trees and move most anything I please. This loader had sat outside for 8-9 years uncovered. So my total investment is around 5,000$ and I'm gonna paint it as soon as I can choose the right shade of yellow. Thanks for all your help. Corey in KC

could you post a picture of the air cleaner? The aircleaner on my 7G is in the dash.

Thank you for the picture. I find it interesting that your HD7 is different than mine. My s/n is HD7G 23776. Is yours newer or older than mine?

get a guard for the radiator before you do to much work with it , somethiing sturdy even if it isnt correct , a good heavy expanded metal grid or even some walk decking material and welded to frame . radiators are expensive to replace when a branch or something pokes through the core .

i know one thing that the parts book and service manuals all shoe the 7g having the front radiator guard looking like the 6g with the round holes and 2 eyes but everyone I have seeen looks like a straight grill.

  I have the tube grill installed now, but the tractor came with a bunch of sheet metal (plate) parts, some of which I don't think fit this tractor. I have a twenty year old reciept for a radiator rebuild on this tractor and the price was 1400$!!!!. Hard to believe. In the bottom of one of my pics you can just see the mounting tab on a heavy plate radiator guard, the holey type.

My Fiat-Allis parts book shows the round type air cleaner as the "First Type". The dash mounted air cleaner was effective with s/n 23003 I had thought that all HD7G's had the dash mount.
