I was lucky enough to buy a slightly used sickle mower 2 years ago from a nice fella from Iowa. When it arrived it was missing the right side lift cable. He was not able to find it. I was told they were no longer made. Luckily I had a parts tractor that had lift cables, I removed the 2 end clevises. Bought the correct size cable and some crimps at a poultry specialty store. Problem is, the factory crimp is a square crimp about an inch long. The crimps I have are only maybe 5/16” wide. So I put 2 crimps back to back. I have the proper crimp tool but after using it for 2years now it has pulled out of the crimps several times. I do use the mower quite often. My question is, has anyone been able to buy the factory cables and if so from whom?

You could attach a pair of adjustable hanger rods or eye bolts to the mower frame directly below the standard lift cables on each side, then you continue using the mower deck lift cables.
