Friend of mine i farm with bought a 7060 a while back. Pulled it in the shop to service it and realized the trans dipstick tube is broke off, appears to have been broke for a while as it had some JB weld around it. Its broke off flush at the top of the trans. I'm curious if anybody else has had this happen before and how it was fixed.
First option we've come up with is to attempt to remove the rest of the tube from the trans, and try to source a 8000 tube/dipstick and go that route. Comparing it to my 8050 it looks like it should fit under the cab alright. Obvious issue is trying to pull the old piece out without removing the cab, not much room to work. Second option is finding a generic rubber expansion style dipstick that will fit in the hole, and marking the stick to the correct length. Would have to check the oil level from the rear of the tractor reaching in, but would be the quickest/easiest fix. |

You don't want the 8000 dip stick tube. They are a pain in the xxx to pour oil into.
Drive a screwdriver down one side then pull it out with needle nose pliers. MACK

Broken or loose dipstick tubes are from carrying toolboxes and junk in the cab and banging up against the tube. Get a new rube and fix it right.
