I posted about this several months ago, I did buy it and after checking pressures and inspecting the power direct clutches from underneath, we knew it had to be split. Broke in half today. So I thought I'd share a pic of the belly of the beast before we break it down. I'm lucky enough to have a damn good former AC mechanic to do the integral work for me.

Would you be willing to snap a pic of the cab half? I have never seen a cab tractor split. Thanks and good luck! BTW, nice looking shop.

When I bought this tractor it had missing glass, the door was sprung so bad the top was 3 inches from the jam, the PO said he owned it for 8 years and never tried to get AC working.
So rather than spend a bunch of time and money on the cab on a tractor that will only be a "spare", I decided to make it a half cab. I'm not done with it yet so give me some time to make it right.

It is a pd. The power shift tractors don't have this set of clutches. The trans brake seems to be trying to work when applying 150 lbs of air, so I don't have to go any deeper into the trans.

If the trans brake is worn out (from a dragging P.D. clutch) it can be changed by removing the hydraulic pumps and reaching up inside. It isn't easy, but I've done one that way.

Thanks for the "cab" end view! If you would have had to go go deeper into the tranny, would the cab have to come off? That looks like GOBS of hoses/wires already! Please give updates. BTW, Are parts available to you and/or your mechanic?

No you can pull the trans without taking to cab off.  You will have to remove two cab mount bolts, and support the cab, but at this point pulling the trans isn't that much more work.

Cob crusher,I'll get a better picture of the stands for you. The center jack and side jacks are homemade. The side jacks are two separate pieces bolted to either side, at the bottom are two pieces of tube that slide inside each other for different frame widths and the casters are height adjustable also. Center jack is adjustable also.
I already had the side console panels off. I had it split in a half a day even with the fuel tank straps giving me a fit. Not bad for my first split of anything bigger than a 200.

Doc, my mechanic said he's never done one but in the AC training school back in the day they talked about being able to service trans brake, not easy, but can be serviced.

Freedguy, Agco should have any of the internal parts we need, plates, springs, gaskets, O rings and such.

For a 200 trans rebuild you will a different set of jacks, one to support torque tube and engine and one to support the rear end. I've got a set of those also.
