Looking for ideas on what to use for inside the cab, top of cab, insulation and sound deadening. Dynamat, LizardSkin, Flex Seal, or bedliner material? Or anyone have any other ideas? I plan on installing cab kit but want to use something to insulate and reduce vibrations, noise.

I have been putting rock wool under the roof top. None of the three I have had anything in it before. Also in the steering console. I believe it is similar to what I have found in this area. Just remembered, my 7060 had a thin sheet of foam over the climate control area. Looked like it was glued to the roof. Factory? I don't know but makes sense to keep dust out as well as insulate. Currently the roof is off the 7040 and PO had placed a thick foam pad over the whole roof area.

Another question I have is the tractor I have is a maroon belly but I found one where the guy used a black belly cab kit that appears to cover more inside. Is that the difference in the two cab kits? I am not going for restoration, I like to mix things up and use different parts as long as it works and looks good.

I think any of that 'dynamat' type stuff will help.iput it in the floor of my '76 F-150 and made quite bit difference, wish I'd put some on my 7060 when I had the cab top off..
I'd put it on the roof behind the heat/ac area,and on the cab top.
Only difference in cab kits is,I think,is the black bellies have foam covers for the center cab post.i also put a lot of new foam stuffing in the dash too,all that and a working ac makes em nice...

Black belly kit covers side and rear corner posts. Roof area up front around vent openings and cross bar right side around ashtray. Also differences in padding around seat base depending which seat you have. Fehr Cab allowed me to swap seat base padding in a kit for my maroon 7060.

Try inspecting your tractor’s cab rubber frame mounts. They help isolate vibration noise.

Im thinking it wouldnt be a bad idea to cover the bottom side of the floor plate, and consider doing the top seperately from the rest of the floor in case you need to access the top of the transmission.
I think Dynamat or a good copy would be ideal, something thin so you can still put the foam on top. Not permanent like bedliner.

Ok I used dynamat extreme under the floor mat and on the bottom of the cab roof. I didn’t get a chance to put the cab kit in yet but I used the tractor today and while the floor and the roof seemed to be quieter the engine noise coming through the dash seemed to be amplified. I don’t know if I am expecting too much or what but could barely make out the songs of the new radio. I was cutting hay so running at pto speed. I am kind of glad I haven’t put the cab kit in yet so I can see what difference that will make.

Seem like I remember our 7045 had foam padding behind the dash area for noise suppression, rather than purchasing new, go get an old sofa cushion and cut out what you might need from that.

Anything that lets light through will allow noise through.Grommets and shifter boots make a big difference.
