There's an ad on my local CL that has a picture of a 7030 with a completely white/squarish looking cab Ouch ? Is it safe to assume that it's an open station with an aftermarket cab ? Thanks

As I remember, the first 3 or 6 month's of 7030/7050 production didn't have the factory cab available. Maybe it was the 7030 only. Anyway, I had one customer that had a 7030 with a Year-Round or Hiniker cab on it.

If an "aftermarket" cab was installed, were the fenders(if an open station) removed to accept the "cab"?  This unit has no "ORANGE" fenders that I can tell Embarrassed .

All depends on who designed the cab. Some used OEM fenders and some did not.

What Dr says is kind of the way it was in our area. We had several neighbors that were ready for a bigger tractor and the early 7030s were all w/o cab or had one added. There was one 7050 and it had the factory cab. By the time the 7040 and 7060 were out a factory cab was almost standard.

I had an early 7030, maybe not the first but the first in our area with a cab.

A similar thing happened in Fall of 1980, when the 6060 and 6080 came out. No factory cab in the early months. Something about the roll-over test wasn't certified at the time of release to the Dealers. Also, makes me think the LaPorte Factory (in both 6000 and 7000 series cases) wasn't told to have cabs ready to go by a certain date  ??? kind of like a Federal Government program......

I know of a 7050 with aftermarket cab, 0nly 20 miles from me but haven't been able to find out who owns it.  I think has changed hands many times in the last five years.

The 7030 pictured looks to have a Year-A-Round cab, and the original fenders are not on it. Odds are they are sitting in someone's shed somewhere with their value not being realized!

Are those pretty much "stock" sized front tires on that 7030 ?
