I have a 7020 and the throttle lever has no response. Going to put a new cable on it but i cant trace where it goes out of the cab. My service manual doesnt show how to replace it or even where it travels from cable to engine.
Does anyone have a diagram showings it location and how to get to it? |

Did you check to see if cable is hooked to injection pump? The cable is in bottom of dash if it has a foot feed. Take right side lower panel to get to back end of cable. Might as well take lower right side window out. MACK

Yes cable attached at pump and followed the cable back to the bulkhead where it goes through the cab but when pulling the throttle either on the pump or on the console no movement on either end. So must be a break somewhere between or under the dash further which i cant get to so far.

It's a real pain in the butt to work on that throttle. While I had mine apart I disconnected the foot throttle and tack welded the linkage together for the hand throttle. My foot throttle linkage was tight and would not let the hand throttle work properly.
Good luck Leon B Mo |

There are a few things on those 7000 series tractors that are a miserable job to do. The throttle cable replacement ranks right up there.

No one happens to have a diagram of where the cable feeds through the cab?
Thanks for all the help! |

It connects to the foot accelerator, not the hand throttle. So, it is down low in a nearly straight line where you see it go thru the firewall and disappear.

I removed the whole door when I worked on mine, just 10 or so screws to remove. But you have to have someone on the ground to catch it.
