My 7020 i put it on the snow blower this year, and now if I have the blower lifted I cannot disengage the pto until I set the blower down taking load off the lift arms. Anybody know what's causing this??

I am not the expert, but it could be a problem with a bent bracket, #6 below:

That #6 absolutely cannot be bent rearwards at all !! I have straightened many over the years and welded in a brace to keep them from bending again. Steady hand pressure to release....not just force it.

had one do this many years ago - the pto valve has 2 sump drains, if one is plugged with a sheared oring or gasket or other item the pressure from a remote or 3 point lift ram will build up in the pressure reducing circuit - this will cause harsh engagement and difficult disengagement. The solution is to remove the pto valve and clean the sump passages in the tractor and or the valve... if the CABLE is not the issue. By saying you can shut it off when the lift is lowered triggered this memory...

Thanks for all your input guys, I had it out again tonight to move more snow and did like the Dr mentioned I firmly but slowly pushed the lever and with the lift arms up it disengaged. I guess like any cable it can't be forced. Thanks again for the help!!
