I grew up with smaller/mid size Allis tractors (WD, WD45, D-17 & D-19).  This fall I helped someone that uses a JD 4620 (I think that's the model #) and a Allis 7020 (I saw 70202194 near the left side of the rear axle if I remember correctly).  The 7020 was originally my friends father-in-law tractor but he passed away.  While helping my friend with his harvest I used the 7020 some (my first time using a 7000 series) and when looking at the back side there is a piece that neither of us can figure out what it is for.  It is the same black color as the rear so I'm assuming this is original but was curious what it is used for?  This piece is only the right side, not on the left.
