Had the 7020 in the shop for winter repairs. Hyd line leaking behind aux fuel tank, foot throttle not letting hand throttle work properly and foot clutch safety switch not working/adjusted right.
I'm not a small guy so working on the above items was not a way a wanted to spend my weekend. Started with the hyd line behind ax fuel tank. Remove dual, shift main tire/rim out, remove protective pan to clean out debris. Pull aux fuel tank off. Found the leak in a hyd hose. Got a new hose, installed. Putting the aux tank back on is a freaking nightmare. Why didn't  the "engineers" put a long enough bolt on the rear strap to be able to install tank without lots of cussing. Aux tank back on, found a bad crossover fuel line, repaired, protective plate back on.

Whoever designed the 70xx cabs did not have me in mind.....

Next, throttle control. I never use the foot throttle but it keeps me from throttling down completely with just the hand throttle. I deleted the foot throttle on my 7060 and wanted to delete it on the 7020.  First thing I did was remove the rh door. Took 5 minutes and well worth the effort.
Still not the easiest to work on.
Removed the panels to get access to foot/hand throttle linkage, delete foot pedal and weld hand throttle to foot linkage. Blew out all the dirt and lubricated the linkage.
Next and I saved the best for last is the foot clutch safety switch. Over the past year or so you really had to push the foot clutch in hard and sometimes stomp on the clutch pedal to engage the safety switch. So move to the left side, remove upper and lower tin and panels....really...I got to it but my goodness...was the cab an afterthought? The clutch pedal safety switch is now "adjusted" to be sure it starts when I push the start button!
Anyway, the ol gal will be back in service this spring, it still needs a valve cover gasket...maybe next week...

Imagine being 6’2” and working under the console beside the seat. Steering control valve is always fun too.

I'm only 5' 10" but I'm fairly round lol. It's a bit of a challenge sometimes.

Cab tractors should have had detachable steering wheels like race cars.

I cant believe the dash console was as terrible to work on as it was, they had to know they were putting a cab on it.

Everything else I can tolerate, but that dash area is dumb. Heat funnel too in summer. :)
