I have purchased a 7010 PD with 8000+ hrs taking delivery next week, first 7000 series I've owned. What would be the things to watch. I will be servicing all filters and fluids (engine oil, trans, hyd, rear end, engine coolant) before putting into service.

it should have a water filter; change that. I proly would worry about fluids except engine oil till u run it 100 hours and see about any problems. it should have 2500lbs pressure from the hydraulics. if it doesn't, it proly just needs a shim. should be a good tractor; most problems are minor.

Congrats on buying a wonderful AC 70xx series tractor. I think they're a good reliable tractor series.
Check the engine's fresh air intake pipe before air filter for a birds nest. About every year, I'll dig several handfuls of small twigs from my 7060's intake. I remove its air dust bowl (above hood), filters, and then stuff a rag inside clean air intake while I clean out twigs. The rag keeps twigs & dirt out of pipe. Don't forget to remove rag before reinstalling filters. |

On the left side of the motor towards the front of the motor but on the side. It would be smaller than the oil filters on that side.

Owned a 7010 with PS and 20:8x38 rubber back in 1982. This was
a very good and trouble free tractor. Also enjoyed the diff lock which our 7000 did not have. |

I second with installing the coolant filter, my 7020 didn't have one but I was told to to prevent electrolysis. And congrats on purchasing a good tractor. I bought my 7020 over a year ago and love using it, can't find enough to do with it on my small acreage, plan on doing a full restoration on it in the next couple years.

I also had lots of small leaks on the air conditioning system. If you have a cab, the AC needs to work. Roscoe.

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate all the experience that the members here share. AC system needs a complete rework, radiator has partial left on the foam kit

Thanks for sharing your 7010's photo. Its looks like a good straight tractor. I see its got the nice stadium lights & remote mirrors. No power-shift decal on the door, so I'm assuming its got the 20 speed power director. You're going to enjoy those power shift rear rims when making quick wheel adjustments if you hook up an in furrow AC 2000 monobeam 5-16 plow, working hay, etc... Did you get any duals with it?

if you need new ac hoses, it cheaper to get them thru A&I, that's where I got all mine and saved about $300. than if I had bought them thru agco. the part numbers are the same as agco's numbers.

That's a lot of shekels if the tractor isn't going to be working hard.
