I can still count on one hand how many I've ever replaced. I've fixed more for broken springs and oil leaks. What's wrong with yours?? Infrequent oil and filter changes will contribute to a piston pump internal failure.

You need to connect a 3,000 psi gauge to the tee on the PTO valve and see what the stand-by pressure is (if there is any) and go from there. If you want to just go ahead and swap a pump, have at it. The tractor moves and has power steering, right ??

tractor has no standby pressure at all.  how difficult is it to repair this pump?  Power steering works and tractor moves, just no remotes and 3 point does not work.  Just to repeat,  guage on pto valve doesn't show any pressure at all,  standby valve and high pressure valve in compensator are not stuck

If low pressure standby and high pressure compensator spools are free AND their springs are not broken, I'd probably remove the pump and see if the swash plate spring isn't broken, which does happen once in a while. Before that, technically one should add some sort of shim to the low pressure compensator spool to force the pump into stroking up. If nothing happens when adding shims to the low pressure spool, there's something wrong inside the pump.

I always pulled out both belly filters first, disconnect and rotate the surge chamber line out of the way and plug it, seperate the piston pump and shove in one small plastic plug. It can sit like that for days and not lose any hyd or trans oil. Yellow 3M glue the new pump gasket in place (and let dry) and a thin film of RTV on the other side when going back together.
