    Posted: 07 Jun 2017 at 9:16am
I traded recently for a 7060 with a weak starter. Wasted $60 on a new solenoid that didn't help much and I didn't want to rebuid what I had for a couple of reasons. I like gear reduction starters but couldn't find one listed for the 426. Searched here and found an old post from the Jorstad Brothers about getting one from the Generator Starter Shop in Billings Mt.
I called and the phone was answered by Dani. She is the co-owner. I told her what I was looking for and she gave the phone to Mike who within 5 minutes confirmed they had a starter in stock that would work. Back to Dani and she took my info and said it would ship that day. I don't think I was on the phone over 10 minutes.
The starter fit perfectly. Very well packed and they even took the time to tag and label all the connections. This starter has a ground lug which I really like. You may have to make a new cable or two but that's it.
The starter spins the heck out of this old girl. I am very impressed with the starter and the service I recieved.

I guess they would have these for the 301's also?  7010s and 7020s?

There are some on EBay for around $240. I don't know what lowell paid, but I like the looks of his. EBay has rebuilt 301 gear reduction starters for $100 more than the 426 starter. Go figure.

Go to EBay and do a search for "Allis Chalmers 426 gear reduction starter."

As I said, I like the looks of your starter. It's a genuine Delco too. I don't think you paid too much.
