I have a 7000 black belly and on the powershift lever it seams to have 4 detent positions. If you start in 1 you have to shift up what feels like twice to get to second. Then from 3rd you have what feels like 2 shifts back down to 2nd. Tractor will stop if you don't go through both detent positions. Curious if this is an adjustment or an issue in the valve. Thanks for your help.

Make sure the lever on the outside of the valve is clamped tightly to the shaft. If it's tight, I'd guess there's something inside loose or broken, which will require valve removal to repair.
