Does anyone know if the wear plates in a 7000 pump are the same as 185, 190 pumps? A&I has repair kit for 185, 190 pumps, they don't list for 7000. They have a complete pump for 7000.

Sam, you'll have to let me know what you find on this.  My 7000 is weeping a little between the plates and can be a little lack luster in pressure below 1800 at the remotes, so it could probably use an overhaul.  I hope all is well and glad I caught a post from you on here while I had some time to sit down at the computer and browse the forum on a rainy Sunday!

Model 200 hyd pump isn't the same as a 7000 pump. It's close, but a different output.

Answer to first question, yes the wear plates in 7000 pump are the same as 185, 190, 200 pump. When you get kit from A&I you get 6 plates and sets of seals, only need 4 in 7000. As my luck goes a needle brg in the center section was bad and part of the support for seal was broken causing seal to blow, so I replaced complete pump. I will post pic of pump later.

I wonder if you got 24D001 for the dual pumps if that would be the correct 4 plates the 7000 uses for its dual pump?  Did you order 24D002 (The triple section pump kit)?  Although, weren't the older dual pumps for models that didn't have 3pt, and therefore didn't need the traction booster set of plates/gears?  And the 7000 has a section for trans/hyd/power steering and a section for traction-booster?  I'm going to have to go look at the service manual now that my curiosity is going!  

How bad of a job is it to pull these pumps apart and rebuild them?  I wonder if I can get mine done before the first cutting of hay in a week or so...

Scribe a mark at angle on side of pump so no sections gets turned wrong. If line does not line up when you are done, you screwed up.     MACK

Going thru one of those pumps and resealing it (and having it remain leak-free) isn't a difficult job BUT, it isn't a job a novice should consider performing when needing to make hay. If the old pump is working, why do you think you need to tear down a working pump?? A novice (one who has never done a pump like this) can quite easily make a mistake and ruin the pump and then the tractor is dead and unusable, while the hay still needs to be made. A management decision for sure.

My limited experience.....I think my 220 pump could have been saved if a kit put in hrs ago.The weakened backup seals let pressure through that area and eroded the aluminum to where the backup seal had no support against pressure.To far gone.New pump. A new kit made a world of diff on my F2 hyd's.

The pump is starting to leak externally where the plates are sandwiched together. I will probably wait until round baling is done, as this is my first tractor to go to for the round baler (only cabbed tractor!).
