While checking end play in transmission  counter shaft  I discovered excessive play, manual says you can replace snap ring with a thicker snap ring
for example #70244155 snap ring is .110 thick and snap ring #70244154 is .107 thick and the existing one is .104 thick.
AGCO price on this part number is $70 any other suggestions?

ANY bearing supply place sells them!  I bought 3 for the 'used-abused' rear blade.Cames out of the store with 3 and change from a $20 bill !
If you have the old one it's simple, they just measure and lookup in computer.Might take a day or 2 to get from their warehouse though.

I think the problem here is the thickness.

did this on my D19, just took out the snap ring and made shims till I got the correct clearance, then reused the original snap ring.

I did what Dan said.
It's important to remove the end play to obtain the spec, as those are tapered-roller bearings. IIRC, I made it zero on my D17sIV.

Also, note that one side of the snap-ring usually has a sharp edge on the OD.

The ring should be installed so that that side is toward the open end of the transmission.
