I’m new to the forum and have searched but unable to locate an answer to my question.
I recently purchase a 653 crawler that hasn’t been run for 6 years. Motor turns over easily but I can’t seem to get it to fire. I’ve replaced the fuel filter, checked and cleaned the sediment bowl and checked the screen on the injector pump. There appears to be plenty of fuel getting to the injector pump but when I disconnect the line at the injectors the fuel seems to barely come out. Injection pump: Roosa Master model DBGFC 433-1jn My question is how much pressure should there be going into the injector from the pump? |

I checked the shut off twice after filter replacement because that would be a boneheaded move that I would do! If you’re talking the pump it is manual. |

They say the metering valve can get stuck. I think you can fiddle with it with the top cover off the pump. I know nothing about it just heard it talked about.

Quite often injection pumps get gummed up and stuck from sitting in old fuel. I just tore down a 4010 pump yesterday that had sat a long time but it actually ran, well it ended up seizing the head and breaking the driveshaft. The fuel inside looked like syrup. Now a much more costly repair. Lesson here is, just because it will run, doesn't mean it should be forced to run in the junk fuel. When in that shape, it should be pulled off and sent to a competent fuel injection specialist.
