All, my 65' 190xt front wheel bearings have worn out and need to be replaced. Can someone tell me how to remove the wheel hub's cap to get to the big nut for removal. Does the cap screw off or is it just pressed in? I noticed it has sides like a nut and didn't know if I needed a huge wrench or if I could just drive it off? Also is there anyplace online I can get a set of wheel bearings ect for it? Thanks.

Seems like our '68 models' caps just press in

If dust cap looks like a big nut it should unscrew . If the dust cap does not look like a big nut it should pry off.

I will attempt to unscrew it first and hopefully it comes off. I think the spindles should be ok but you never know until you look. Thanks much for the help.

You can use a big pipe wrench it you dont have a cresent that big... Look close and you can see a small crack between the cap and the hub.... tap with a hammer on that area of the cap to loosen up the rusted threads if the cap dont come off easy.

My 65' 190 screw on. I don't remember if one was left hand thread and one is right hand or if both are right hand.

I will lubricate it well and grab the pipe wrench as I dont have a crescent that large. Hopefully the rust hasn't taken completely over yet. Do you guys know if you can get the bearings from an auto parts store like Oreilly's or NAPA ? I really would like to get these fixed soon. Thanks.

NAPA should be able to get them. If you have a Motion Industries close by, I would use them. You can google Motion Ind and find the closest store near you.

Just did both sides on 69XT. Used pipe wrench. Ended up replacing one outer bearing. After soaking in gas to clean up it totally fell apart in hand. Replaced from agco.
