Hey I'm interested in anyone's knowledge on the 649-I engine's. Picked up one this fall to put in my 7000. This one is supposedly out of a snow cat. France cast block and believe to be an 82-83 year.thanks Brian

All block and head castings had been from France for many years prior to 1982, so nothing special about that. 649I should have been turbocharged and intercooled, with a DM-4 Roosa-Master injection pump and Bosch injectors. Would have been rated at probably 145 flywheel HP @ 2300 RPM.
