I have a 2wd 6140, very reliable but nevertheless when things go wrong only a few replacement parts other than used are available. You wouldn't think something as simple as a cooling fan would be a major issue, but yeah... took a LONG time to find a used one from a salvage yard. Had a guy offer to build a new one (he does it for a living, I guess) but I wasn't completely trusting lol...
Personally, I'd buy it, but I don't know how many hours, etc., so can't say what I'd pay but $6,500 - maybe. For that I could buy a Ford 3930 locally and I'd never have the parts availability issue. At least not for a very long time. And lots of D-17's around for less money than that. I can see how it'd be struggle choosing lol!
I need more than 200 characters for my "signature." I'd love to see that changed to 250!
