We have a 1985 6080 and the foot throttle sticks down to the floor all the time and you have to bend down and pull it up, the throttle return spring is on and appears to be attached the way it should be, any ideas?

Cable sticking. Disconnect it at the rear and then see if the pedal returns like it should.
