I bought the tractor like this. Why would it have happened? Could someone help point me in the right direction on getting this fixed?  I tried to purchase a shaft from the dealer and they told me it had been discontinued for several years and was not available.  Should i call around to yards and see if i can find one used?  Part #17

see if you can resize your picture  ( too big)

check your tire sizes front to rear, if the sizes are not in sink with the gear ratio then that would cause a binding in the drive train and broke the weakest link.

The front axel pivot bushes are worn causing a side load on the pinion shaft. The parts are available, the transmission and fwa unit is the same as a Fiat 880 DT four cylinder model,i needed a complete drive shaft for a 6080 and got one non genuine through a Fiat parts supplier reasonably priced.

Tire sizes are correct but the front tires are like new and the rears are pretty worn.  I'll see if i can resize it.

Holy Smokes... $1500!  I think i might have to stick with 2wd for a while.  I think when i was looking several months ago i found a whole front diff for less than that though.

Aus, i've tried to look up Fiat parts but i cant find any FWA pinion shaft available for an 880DT.  Might be because i'm in the states?

Thanks guys
