Trying to figure out the belt twists for the 59L. The biggest twist I have is from the PTO pulley to the lower pulley. Across these pulleys there is a full one twist. Is this correct?

A half twist from drive pulley to the idler. A full twist would put you right back where you started. https://www.google.com/search?q=Woods+L59+belt+routing&newwindow=1&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CDcQsARqFQoTCMOY9_zNi8cCFch7kgodREADXQ&biw=1024&bih=667#imgrc=_ Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 02 Aug 2015 at 7:06pm |

You need to undo the belt as it is already twisted to much . Start over and you will have the correct 1/2 turn .

The belt makes a 3/4 twist [to the left] to the top pulley then a 1/2 twist[to the right] over the drive pulley then a 1/4 twist [to the left] under the lower pulley
adjust The top pulley about one inch above being in line with the top grove of the center sheave and the rear or lower idler about one inch below being in line with the bottom groove of the center sheave on the mower. Make major belt adjustments by moving mower fore and aft RUN THE BELT TIGHT -------------------- KENT

Okay. I pulled the belt and tried again. This is what I have now. All observed from behind tractor: 3/4 twist on left (to center sheave), 1/4 twist on right (to center sheave), 1/2 twist from drive pulley to left idler pulley. Please tell me this is correct. I had the same problem with my dryer belt.

That sounds about right to me. No twist from right idler to drive pulley.
