I need to come up with a sump tube for a 4-71 Gm engine for an hd-10.  Part # is 5166847.  We installed a newer crankshaft as the old one broke and used the newer style gear drive oil pump instead of the old worn chain drive. The number should be cast into the tube as old one was that way. 5153850 is part # of tube for chain drive oil pump. The gear drive pump assy is slightly longer and my current tube will not work.  Parts book says gear drive pump was used on replacement engines.  I should note this is a deep cast  pan (about 10 inches at the sump) and our donor engine had the short stamped pan and sump will not work.

Detroit says the number is good, but the question is.. who has one.

Thank you

You might try a company in Bakersfield, Ca. called Dellany and Alf  661-322-5064, talk to Dave in parts, they have buildings full of Detroit stuff, almost all the parts for my 6V71 came from there.  Good luck ;Tad
