I am wanting to put a block heater on a 210. Does anyone make a screw in for the plug in the block? I haven't tried AGCO. If I use tank style heater where would I plumb the in and out lines? This tractor has a coolant filter and original engine.

AGCO parts books show one # 70256703. Phillips Zerostart # 3500013 may fit.

Factory heater goes in the rear of the oil cooler. I would thing a factory unit would cost less then the plumbing for a tank heater.

Are you talking the cooler on a 210 or 7-8000 series.Agree on later units but no so sure on the old 3500's.

This is what I installed on my 220. It is 1" pipe thread hole to rear of oil filters.

Thanks for the picture Jim. That is where I thought one would go. Will try getting the plug out or install a tank style if it doesn't budge. Earlier 426 blocks dont have a big tube style oil cooler.

The heater is a Kat's 11407, 1" NPT, 400W. Works good. I didn't want the long cord that came with the heater hanging on the tractor so I bought a 12" cord, Kat's 28206. The heater can be bought on eBay for under $40.

This is the 600W heater I removed when I installed the plug heater, just another option.

I wouldn’t think that would work very well. If the thermostat is closed It would have a hard time circulating.

Years ago, I saw lots of those lower hose type heaters on AC tractors. Were they as powerful as a 1500 watt tank type heater ?? Nope. But they were easy to install and certainly were better than a dipstick heater or an oil pan magnet type heater. Try and install a tank heater on a D17 or WD45 gas engine. A lower hose heater is a piece of cake.

If I could at all make a block heater work I’d take it over a tank heater any day.

The bypass hose will allow enough to circulate.

I see in Kats' catalog, they list a 1500W for the 3500/220.  How long does it normally take to warm the block with the 400W?

I usually plug it in at least an hour or so prior to starting the tractor. Tractor is always in a barn when not in use.

The Kats 1500 watt P/N 30207 that is listed on their application chart was too long to fit into my 220, that's why I went with their 400 watt P/N 11407. Double check me by removing your 1" plug and measure your maximum insertion depth.

Ok, perfect, that's what I needed to know.  I'll check when I pull the plug but I'll stick with the 400W just to be on the safe side.  I still need to get another heater for a 3400 engine.

Thank you sir.

I installed a Kats heater in a 220 earlier today.  Before I did, I measured the depth of the cavity with the plug removed and it is only 2" (from the outside of the block to the back of the cavity).  There is a deeper part of the cavity but it is not centered with the hole so a longer heating element will not work.

11407 is the correct part number for a 220/3500 even though Kats catalog lists the 30303.

Is there one of these heaters available for the 301 block?
