I have a guy wanting to trade a 4 bottom, 3 point hitch semi mount plow with depth wheel in on partial payment for a WD 45 with factory power steering.  He's says that it is in very good shape but weathered.  Supposed to get me some pictures.  What is it worth?  If interested in the plow before pictures, let me know what you would think about giving for it.  Den

Den, I dont know how regional plow values are but around here 4-5 bottom plows seem to fall into a plow value no-mans land. Green and yellow paint doesn't even help them. Being too big for the yuppie sport utility type tractors and too small for a real farmer kinda leaves them out with little value to anyone except the (very)occasional collector
Personally I  wouldn't want to have more than it's weight x scrap value in it unless the plow is for some reason collectible

Den - I paid $375 for cherry mint very late mfg (1970's) 4 bottom Model 74 4-16" fully mounted 3 point plow.  It was like brand new and had the depth guage wheel too.   It works very well behind my 180 in my bottom fields.  It has been easily worth what I paid for it.  Assuming it's in very good shape and the wear items are like new, it'd be worth $100 per bottom to someone who was going to use it.   Mike

I guess it is.  This guy knows I only deal in Allis and we have done 3 or 4 deals so I'm sure that it is an Allis.  Still do not have the pictures from him but he did say that he had to get a friend to send them.  Den

Den , you can take any price somebody wants to throw at you . $100.00 a bottom is a fair start . Or you can look up the same plow on Tractor House and they are wanting $ 1295.00 , they are not getting that , asking . Having not seen the plow however , any 4 bottom that is in good field ready condition (not left outside since 1974) could bring max $750 .

About 15 years ago I had to out bid the iron man for my AC 2000 4x18 semi mounted plow. I didn't like the green one next to it at the consignment auction. The next day when I went to pick up my plow I could see the sl*g on the grass where the iron man had cut up that green plow. I think I paid $140 or $150. Needed shins and shares which i found. Haven't used it in about a decade because I went notill and then rented the place out.
