Never have had one of these before and really know nothing about them. I would like to purchase a sprayer for my tractor that is PTO driven. The tractor has a Cat 1/2 three point hitch, and 53 PTO horsepower. I'd rather purchase a quality unit to last several years as it will see a lot of use keeping weeds and insects down at several places. I see Fimco, and Demco sprayers around a lot with the former being sold in the farm stores. I would assume Demco is a better brand but both use the same "TeeJet" valves from what I've seen so don't really know what to think. I've not seen a Demco brand three point sprayer myself but have seen them on their website: https://cdn.demco-products.com/documents/AS20026.pdf?m=20210618113842 Anybody have direct experience with these? Thanks,

I bought a new Bestway Ag 3pt sprayer this spring. 200 gallon tank, 8 roller cast pump 540 pto. 35' booms and hand gun. Put it on our 170 this spring and left it on their all summer. Wasn't cheap, but sure beat the heck out of the old backpack sprayer!

Bought a Demco last year at auction. 300 gal. 540 PTO 45ft boom. I like it real well. Has 3 boom control switches and pressure gauge mounted in cab. Suggest getting a PTO extension to clear shield. Wand sprayer better suited for open station

Thanks guys. Through work I ordered a Demco 60gal sprayer with fold out booms, six roller pump, and manual valves. I think the hand wand is only about 15' but I want that for spraying from the tractor seat, (open station). The route sales rep took the sprayer to the Farm Progress Show in Decatur and will drop it by my place after it's conclusion over the weekend. No freight charge that way. I decided to go with the Demco as the tank is much better quality than others I've seen meaning thickness, porting, and agitation. I'll do some modifying such as solenoid valves and such when I'm more certain of what I actually want to do with it. Right now I just have a lot of roadway, 4 wheeler paths, and fence lines to gets weeds burned down on. Know what you mean about the backpack type sprayers too. I don't want no more of that..... Thanks kindly gents; really is appreciated. I'll post up a photo next week when mounted up on the tractor. |

60 gallons isn't too bad.....The first sprayer I remember on the farm was a kit dad bought that worked with a 55 gallon drum.
We had a 200 gallon 3 pt. sprayer. In my opinion, it is hard on things. with the sprayer plus the liquid, you've got about 1700 pounds back there. Sway control on your arms is a must, but even at that, sloshing and stuff is not good. Wasn't a fan at all.

Boom sprayer arrived today and it is a quality built unit. Heavy frame with everything well designed. The tank is much heavier than the sprayers I've seen in the farm stores as are the booms, (seemingly). I didn't unpack anything as it is still strapped together for shipping. Doesn't look like much to do to start spraying. It was dark when I got back to the shop from a new tractor delivery this afternoon and I'll grab some photos tomorrow. They purchased a new 2.5 gallon jug of "Buccaneer" herbicide concentrate to spray the lot perimeter and knock the weed growth down where the used lawn mowers, and tractor implements are displayed. I think that product is 41% glyphosate and does a good job when mixed to a 5% solution.
