I'm looking at buying a #83 3 bottom 3 point plow but I don't have a 3 point on my D17. I have a #50 series snap coupler plow, can I take the snap coupler off of the #50 series and mount it on the #83 thus converting it to a snap coupler? And obviously I would have to take the 3 point mounts off of the #83. Thanks

Shaft on snap coupler plows run through the beams...shaft on factory 3 point plows are mounted underneath the beams. Others are probably more knowledgeable than I am on this. That's just the difference I've noticed.

The hitch parts bolt on to the plow frame. I don't know if the 50 hitches are interchangeable with the 80 family hitches. There is a plow frames parts book linked over on the Knowledge Forum in the thread AC Plows Parts 101. It shows 60, 70, 80, and 9000 family plow frames, not 50. I think the 50 is very similar to the 60 with the detail that the plow shanks are angled in the 60 family and straight up and down for the 50 family.

The three point depends on the upper link for plow frame tilt control, while the snap coupler works that a bit differently with the framing screw on the plow itself. It might take some adaptation to fit the 50 hitch to the 80 plow. It might be easier to find an 80 snap coupler hitch.
