    Posted: 26 Dec 2011 at 6:21am

Just thought it would be interesting to start a thread, on this past year. Post anything you want, that happened this past year (Projects, ‘new’ old iron, tractor drives, anything shop related). Pictures would be nice, but not necessary.

Here is how our 2011 went in pictures and video…

Started the winter season, in the shop finishing the WD with mounted 33 corn picker. Took longer than I thought, and wow, Allis underestimated the time that it takes to mount that picker, according to their manuals. Took dad and I about 3 months, but, we had to work on the tractor, and fix various things along the way. I sure do appreciate every ones support from the forum, including RickinMO (Flywheel), and GaryindaUP (Shift tower), and RAiken (Picker brackets), and Butch for a lesson in oil pan gaskets. When putting together a project like this, you people are invaluable, and folks like me on the forum are truly grateful. I appreciate every ones help, who took the time to respond to all my questions!

Started with this..

WD back together again after lots of fixin..

Coming together..

Almost DONE!

Also had a friendly robin, nest in the picker snout! Unfortunately, I had to relocate her nest.

Maple syrup season always rolls around in March every year, and we are only 2 months away from that now. Our families G tractor is put to the test, through the mud, rain, snow, and swampy lakes of water. It does the job very well, even though we did get it hung up on frozen ground! Haha

In June, many local tractor enthusiasts get together, for a tractor drive. Usually an all day event, and spanning 30 miles round trip. I think there was around 87 tractors last June in the drive. Our family did well, with keeping orange alive and well in the drive.

Planting season found the D-19 being at work, with the 500 planter. Corn for a relative, and it did well. I still need to find a fertilizer bar attachment for the planter.

Later that month, an local online auction was held and caught my eye (Thanks John(MI)

Being that is was so close to home, I could not hold back. These 2 grain drills made there way back in the trailer.

Grandpa now owns one, and I own the other. We really had fun trying this ‘new’ equipment out back on the farm, this past fathers day. I know I will never forget it!

I also took home a SC field cultivator that needs work, and after the sale, made a deal for this model ‘C’. Did not run at the time I bought it, but glad I own it now. I know now, why my grandpa really likes the model ‘C’ tractors! Fun to drive!!

Also in June, Dad and I took on a side project of cleaning up an old apple orchard, and replanting it with rye/ white clover for deer hunting food plots. The allis tractors earned there keep, and did a great job as usual.

Then, somehow a creepy crawler H-3 ended up on our trailer after 2 hours of DRENCHING AGONY after winching that beast on with a 4 ton come along, on a 95 degree day. (NEVER wanna do that again!) This is in the shop now, waiting for a rebuild on the tracks and rollers.

Fall time… Summer went by faster than ever seemed like.

Silage this past fall…

My uncle did most of the choppin with his 190. I did get the D-19 hooked on and did one round, and he and grandpa also did a round. 2 row head on the chopper, its slow, but the diesel did ok.

[TUBE]F-QTZQG_b7Y&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL[/TUBE]

Caught up with my uncle plowin with his new 6 bottom plow also this past fall.

[TUBE]wfViApLm1WA&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL[/TUBE]

I was not around to see this, but later my dad took pictures with his cell phone, of my grandpa and his 175 diesel hooked up to the same plow.

I had another uncle send me a text message quickly on my birthday, letting me know of these two SC pieces of equipment. Being that I had the day off of work, I went and checked them out, and ended up pulling them home too.

Used them on the garden, and I need to get new bearings for the #40 disc.

Well, after looking for a SC 4 bottom plow for years, I finally heard of one locally this past year. Made a deal, and santa dropped it off last week.

Needs some work, but looking forward to trying it out. I also purchased a 2 row planter from pumpkinman, that I need to pick up.

Well, there ya have it.

Its been a looong year for orange paint around here. I hope yours was just as good as this past year has been for us. I have really been blessed by the Lord, he fulfills all my needs and even occasionally my wants! I can say, I never thought I would wind up with a drill or let alone a 4 bottom plow this year. He is good to me! I pray that each one of you in the coming season, keep the Lord in your heart and on your mind. May he bless the next year for you and your family!

My wife and I traveled to both GOO shows this year. We hauled our 6-12 to Florida and i got my mugshot on the cover of the old allis news.
No way that i could have done any of it without my wifes support. Moral and financial.
The universal answer to all questions is yes, how much do you want to spend?

Love the pics Don, This year I was able to finally geet my own orange. Found it sitting in a fence row still hooked to a 10' brush hog. Has been more work than I hoped but not near what I expected.

Great pictures and storyline too.
We started out 2011 with 12 A-C tractors and finished up the year with 11 but not all the same ones. Sold one field cultivator, bought one plow.  Wife says Good boy!, maybe you will do even better next year!!
Engine hobby was more productive, started out the year 3 and now have 11. Wife has given up on me, told her just remember me when she has the auction, LOL.

It's been a busy year here and we have more than done our part to help stimulate the economy. New pickup and fifth wheel trailer in which we took a five week 8000 mile tour to the west coast and back. Attended both GOTO's. Moved the silo shop to daughter and son-in-law's place and now have my shop to myself for hobbies. Built new 62' x 120' storage building and converted a 50' x 80' building to orange storage. Added a one ninety and ACC 50 forklift. Traded a 1300 cultivator for a 1400 chieslvator. Now that I have a undisturbed place to work, maybe I'll get some projects finished. 220 and 210 are next.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Don,  Thanks for the pictures and storyline!  You did have a great year!  I helped out Tim with a few items, and got him a couple leads as well.  If I can't buy them, I am glad I get to know the person they went to!!

Thanks,
John

Great 2011, got my one year clean bill of health from my 2010 cancer, did the Albert City to Hutchinson tractor drive, we also did our own 45 mile drive here in June with 33 tractors raising money for Relay for Life cancer drive, had many AC friends come from 3 states, it was a great time and great cause and kind of emotional for several who are survivors and some who were still in the midst of there fight. thanks
