Let's assume he has the manual shift PTO lever to the left of the seat. It sounds like the rear PTO shaft needs to be pulled out of the tractor and dress up the damaged splines with a 4 inch grinder. This will require draining the hydraulic/transmission/differential oils for a total of about 15 gallons of oil. If it is a 540 only PTO the shaft will pull right out after removing the three bolts holding the PTO shield. If it is a 540/1000 PTO you will have to remove the lift arm housing.

Still having problem with the PTO not staying engaged , guess need to drain the oil and pull the shaft again like Dr Allis  suggested  as I did last year and dress up the splines! Any suggestion would be greatly apprenticed Thank you in advance.PB

If you fixed it once, why are you having trouble again? You surely know not to grind it in gear?

I have taken the shaft out on some 190s and ground the front end off a 1/4 inch or more and then ground the step back on the rear of the shaft where the bearing seats the same amount. This will let the shaft go into the housing further. As long as the seal has a good surface to ride on,you should be alright. Chamfer the front splines a bit to ease engagement. This should work on a 200 also. Crude but effective.

Check the bell crank /pivot point on the inside of the PD housing, there are 2 ears on that thing where it connects the shafts together one maybe broke off, had that happen on a One Eighty once doing exactly what yours is

Make sure bolts have not come loose in transmission cover where lever is mounted. Don't ever remember seeing 200 jump out, a lot of 180-185. Have saw them ground so bad you could not shift them in and twisted splines.        MACK
