Ok now we rebuilt pump and yes we put everything back together correct took it part twice to make sure of that. Pump was building up too much pressure and blew oil cooler up. So made many calls to different dealer and talked to there service dept and was walked thur steps...we cleaned the sump screen it had blue Teflon pieces in it from pump, cleaned power direct found Teflon in it too belew air into the larger of the 3 ports, went further back cleaned PTO unit and found Teflon in it as well. Now I have done nothing different to this tractor put fix only what needed fixed. I have around 2000psi at an idle on the pump, and I have very little power steering.the pump is getting very very hot. Ones are advising that there is something blocking the flow. Every thing was in working order prior to all these head aches all I was doing was discing. Power steering was working fine, PTO worked, PD was working fine too. NOW anything is possible but could there be something wrong internally inside the pump. To where I gonna have to buy another pump. Does anyone have a 1975 200 pump for sale that works.

Is it possible that the steering valve or priority valve is blocked by Teflon tape?
How did you test for the 2000psi reading? Which port were you testing?

We had a pressure gauge on the primary side of the pump at one of the ports.

Disconnect the "out" hose off the steering orbitrol at the tee and run the oil back into the dipstick fill hole. If you still have high pressure (more than 200 psi) there is a blockage inside the orbitrol. With the steering wheel at rest I can't see how there would ever be more than 200 psi.

oil flows from pump to oil cooler to power steering valve to power director valve. if you have 2000 psi at pump with out using the power director or steering I would think that you may have restriction at or before the steering valve.
