We have a steiger kr1280 that has a Allis 20 speed transmission. We replaced it a month or so ago and cannot get it to go into gear because of grinding gears. The only was is to shut the tractor off and then put it in gear. If anyone can help let me know. Thanks Kevin.

With the engine off, you must have the clutch pedal cable "freeplay" adjusted to ZERO. The trans brake comes on when the pedal is clear down to the floor and if there's any freeplay, you aren't getting there........this is where to start. Anything other nthan this, it make get real ugly.
